Ashley Longshore is a current artist in New Orleans. She was born Sarah Ashley Longshore in Montgomery Alabama. Longshore’s art includes bold pop art. She is often compared to Andy Warhol. She began her art career while attending the University of Montana. She has a gallery on Magazine Street in New Orleans. Longshore also sells a lot of her artwork on Instagram. She uses social media both to post her artwork and to connect with and involve her fans in her artwork. Her belief is that when you buy a work of art, you buy the artist. She shares aspects of her life as well as her art on social media so her fans can feel like they really know her. Longshore is known for her paintings, furniture, sculptures, and other forms of art. She also created a 20-piece collection of evening bags that sold on Instagram for $6,500 a piece! She also released her first book in 2017. Blake Lively is a frequent collector of Longshore’s art.

Longshore’s art has been featured in several magazines such as Forbes, Elle, and Vogue. Longshore is considered a feminist. Longshore believes that anyone can do anything with hard work and determination. She reports to work 16 hour days and starts her day by sending emails as soon as her eyes open. Longshore deals her own art and showcases it on social media because she does not want part of her earnings to go to an art dealer. One of her idols is Audrey Hepburn.

*Unfortunately, we did not make it to the Magazine Street gallery of Ashley Longshore. We wanted to, but did not find the time. There were so many things to do and see! If I ever go back to New Orleans, I would definitely want to experience Longshore's art in person!
